Adaptation Week

Each year the university launches the Adaptation Week for foreign students in order to familiarize them with rules and specifics of studying in Poland. It usually takes place during the last week of September, just before the start of the academic year, and provides students with the series of presentations and meetings with representatives of university’s units, as well as of such institutions as Police or National Health Fund.

The Adaptation Week focusses on practical aspects of studying on the University of Silesia and transferring knowledge that would be useful for every student.

The participation is free of charge – the student only needs to secure his accommodation and boarding. Participation in the adaptation week is not obligatory, yet it gives students the opportunity to receive the first-hand information which will be useful during their future education.

Examples of presentation topics:

  • University’s organization procedures,
  • Students' rights and obligations,
  • Legalization of stay,
  • Polish law and safety in Poland,
  • Insurance,
  • Student activities, the way that university supports students.

Full plan of last year’s adaptation week can be found here (plan in Polish).
